About Kshitij Trust
Kshitij Trust is dedicated to the service of mentally challenged Children. Kshitij trust is brain child of three friends Mrs. Anita Dalvi, Mrs. Laxmi Ranganathan and Mrs. Gouri Govekar who decided to start a school for mentally challenged children in 1995. Like minded ladies Mrs. Mala Venkat, Late Mrs. Shakuntala Kulkarni, Miss. Asha Takle, Mrs. Manjiri Gupte and Mrs. Aarti Chandratre joined hands in this noble cause. We cannot afford to forget the valuable advice and assistance of Dr. Ramanathan, Corporate director of Gharada Chemicals,Dombivli and Mr. Anantrao Kulkarni from time to time.. Initially, Kshitij trust did not had its own premises to start a school and eventually small rooms were hired at Vaze Hall in Dombivli (west) where the school was started with 5 children. A successful running of the trust and school would not have been possible without relentless efforts of the members, support from various philanthrophic individuals and institutions who have contributed from time to time to help and encourage the trust in its endeavor to train and rehabilitate the under previleged mentally challenged children. Kshitij trust also works for upliftment of women and poor children. We have also started a centre for education of non school going slum children. For needy women we started a certificate course in fashion designing. For mothers of school children we have started savings account scheme for starting small scale industries (Women's Fund Saving Scheme). To encourage women, we celebrate women's day every year.
